    In May 1927, a concert was organized by a Colorado Springs musician and teacher, Edwin Dietrich. A 30 piece orchestra was recruited, rehearsed and conducted by Mr. Dietrich and the occasion was heralded as the event of the year. This concert proved to be the fountain head from which sprang a regular symphonic organization in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
