Carson City Symphony The Carson City Symphony was founded in 1984 as the Carson City Chamber Orchestra. It changed its name to Carson City Symphony in early 1998. It is a community group open to amateur and professional musicians from northern Nevada and nearby California. Members come from all walks of life and range in age from middle school students to senior citizens.
Nevada Symphony Orchestra As Southern Nevada's only fully professional symphony, the purpose of the Nevada Symphony Orchestra is to provide live quality symphonic concerts for the Southern Nevada community while maintaining a fiscally sound operation. The UNLV Chamber Players (created in 1972 by Virko Baley), recipient of eight National Endowment Grants, provided the musical core around with the Nevada Symphony Orchestra (previously the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra founded in 1980) was built.
The Las Vegas Philharmonic Since the birth of The Las Vegas Philharmonic on the Fourth of July 1998 to the cheers of the capacity audience at Hills Park, Summerlin, the Philharmonic has skyrocketed to proudly take its place as the 4th largest arts organization in the State! The Philharmonic has grown solidly but with unbelievable speed, so that it can now boast of twenty-one activities during its first and formative year. Located in Nevada.
