Blending each pictured concept and its printed word (or letter) into a single entity, the right and left halves of the brain are simultaneously engaged, and a verbal cue (sentence or verse) sets the word in memory as it reinforces it with language. This method is exceptionally effective with both regular and "special needs" students of all ability levels. Used consistently throughout the school year, the developmentally appropriate graphics of "Picture Me Reading!" allows kindergarten children to enter first grade already reading fluently. It augments any and all curricular methods and materials.
